This is a unique opportunity to have a full-time soccer experience. Team will work one-on-one with our staff to adapt our curriculum to each team’s goals and specific needs. This camp is about advanced team training with emphasis on the tactical aspects of the game. Possession, penetration, offensive and defensive balance and support, team shape, systems of play, and many other important topics will be covered. Yet, as the Brazilian Philosophy dictates, the fundamentals of the sport are also highly emphasized (i.e. dribbling, passing, receiving, finishing, heading, etc). On the top of that, players will be instructed on how to improve their speed, quickness, agility, and aggressiveness. To complement our method, small-sided games are extensively used to give players an opportunity to apply the lessons learned in a game situation scenario, and so develop better awareness of the game. Teams will train twice a day (morning and afternoon).
Summer camps are generally used by coaches as a means of preparing the team for the upcoming season. Besides intensive training, scrimmage games are vital in accomplishing the ultimate preparation. Our camp offers the teams the opportunity to play four scrimmage games during the week of camp. Games will be played in the evenings.
Due to the strength of our curriculum, competence of our coaching staff, and intensity of our program, the camp has grown in popularity over the years to the point that we had over 400 campers attending our camp last summer. For the third consecutive year we are joining forces with the Lindsey Wilson College soccer programs to run an even more outstanding camp for our teams, players and coaches. LWC has a rich soccer tradition, and its programs are nationally recognized for its strength and excellence. The programs have placed several players in All-American teams over the years as well as in the professional rankings. As the success of the soccer program increased so have the quality of their facilities. LWC features a soccer stadium, an official size turf field, and an indoor soccer facility, which are going to be used during the camp. Lindsey Wilson College is located in Columbia, KY (80 miles south of Louisville off of I-65).
What makes our camp so special?
- College recruiting opportunities with over seven college represented in our coaching staff
- Quality sessions and a competitive atmosphere for an affordable price of $315 per player! Also, we have scholarships available for players who cannot afford the camp. Each team is allowed to send a coach or chaperone to accompany the team at no cost (complimentary room and board).
- FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
What is Functional Training?
This is an innovative approach for training used only by top professional soccer clubs in the world, introduced by coach Neto at the programs he has coached. Functional training consists of providing players with specific training sessions designed for situations and elements of the game only pertinent to their position on the field. We separate players into four different groups (defenders, midfielders, wingers or wide players, and forwards) and each of those groups receive instruction, repeat techniques, and simulate game situations specifically related to that given position.
